This necklace has a very interesting pendant which is layered with mother-of-pearl material at the base, then a thick layer of clear lucite, and then transferware flowers on the top. This technique makes the flowers look quite three-dimensional, and the flowers have amazing detail. The pendant has an ornate, openwork frame (both front and back), with four sparkling aurora borealis rhinestones. The chain is also quite ornate, with a heart and pearl centerpiece holding the pendant. The chain is 24 inches long, and the pendant has a 2-1/4 inch diameter. A ring next to the clasp is marked "Made in Western Germany." The necklace is probably from the 1950s or 1960s.
