This small pin has inlaid abalone and an openwork sterling silver frame. It measures a mere 1-1/4 x 1 inch. At certain angles the right side of the abalone looks darker than the left, and I'm not sure if this is a result of aging or if it has always been that way. The back of the pin is marked with a crown, which looks similar to a Pineda signature, but is not quite, and is also marked "Sterling Mexico."
