Of all the "Noah's Ark" brooches I've seen, this is one of the finest! The signature on the back is quite hard to read, and I must admit I was surprised to find it does read "Avon." I believe it must be one of the early pieces made by the company. There are terrific details on both the animals and the ark. There are two each of the animals -- giraffes, elephants, monkeys and zebras. The pin measures 1-5/8" x 1-1/2" and it is in excellent condition.
