I was told that this exquisite set came from India in the 1940s and that the elephants are ivory. The smaller elephants on the earrings have a pink tinge that my research indicates may make them mammoth ivory. The small beads are a pinkish tone tending towards peach and I assume that they are made of bone. There are four cone-shaped silvertone bead caps that add a strong art-deco feeling to the necklace, and the hook-clasp is of a type often seen circa 1940. The necklace is 30" long and there are eight strands of the smaller beads. The earrings measure about 2" from the top of the wire, and the small pinkish beads match those in the necklace. A really lovely, unusual necklace.
