This unusual cameo is made of brass, with repousse used on the back and detailed etching on the front. It is also hand painted with brown and white colors, with some of the white paint selectively removed to accent the hair (I believe this is true, although it may have just worn this way). The frame has a finely etched Art Nouveau floral pattern. It may be gold filled or gold plated, but I have not tested it. The brooch measures 1-5/8 x 1-1/4 inches, and it has "c" style clasp. Upon request, I will lightly polish the pin before shipping.
